New time zone will rule the country from September 24th
In declarations offered during his participation in the Sunday program of President Hugo Chavez, “Aló, Presidente”; the Minister of Popular Power for Education, Adan Chávez, ratified that starting on Monday September 24th, the Venezuelans will have to set back their clocks 30 minutes with the time zone change that will begin to rule the whole country from that date.
The holder of Education indicated that the Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Héctor Navarro, informed that everything is prepared for Monday September 24th, at 00:00 Hs, when it will begin to oficially operate the hour change, reason why it will be due to set back half an hour the clock needles, “It will be necessary to move the clock hands ahead half an hour (…) what in this moment is twelve o´clock at night, from then on it will be 12 and a half".
Minister Chávez explained as an example that the difference is that, after the change, the teachers and students would be beginning at 7:00 in the morning with a higher sun, which is equivalent to 7:30 of the current morning.
