AN ACT ESTABLISHING STANDARD TIME AS THE OFFICIAL TIME FOR MONTANA AND REJECTING DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME.

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT ESTABLISHING STANDARD TIME AS THE OFFICIAL TIME FOR MONTANA AND REJECTING DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
NEW SECTION. Section 1. Standard time. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), the standard time in Montana is the seventh time zone west of Greenwich, England, reckoned at 105 degrees west of Greenwich and commonly known as mountain standard time. The state of Montana rejects daylight saving time and elects to continue standard time in Montana throughout the year.
(2) If the United States government enacts a law or regulation relating to the adoption of daylight saving time by all of the states, the state of Montana shall comply with law or regulation as adopted.
(3) This section may not be construed to affect the standard time established by United States law governing the movements of common carriers engaged in interstate commerce or the time for performance of an act by an officer or department of the United States, as established by a statute, lawful order, rule, or regulation of the United States or an agency of the United States.
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 1, chapter 1, part 3, and the provisions of Title 1, chapter 1, part 3, apply to [section 1].
