Iran's Guardian Council has adopted a single-urgency bill regarding Summer Time, proposing to change official time twice in one year.
The GC said on Sunday the bill, which was approved by MPs on August 23, does not run counter to the Constitution or Islamic law.
Based on Majlis approval, the official clock of the country will change once at the beginning of the Iranian calendar year (March 21) and once again at the start of the second half of each year (September 23).
Daylight Savings Time (DST) also known as Summer Time is used to ultimately save energy. It involves adjusting the official local time forward during the summer months, moving observation of an hour of daylight from morning to evening. This observation is then reversed for winter.
