Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 2:00 AM is the date when Daylight Saving Time (DST) would normally end and clocks would be moved back an hour. In 2014,
it was decided that the NRRM would no longer observe DST, and would maintain the same time (Mountain Standard Time or UTC-7) year-round in future.
You DON’T have to change your clock EVER!

FORT NELSON - The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality has resolved to remain on Mountain Standard Time (Pacific Daylight Time) throughout the entire year, the same as Fort St John, Dawson Creek and other communities in the Peace River Region. This change will begin March 8th, 2015 when BC moves to Pacific Daylight Time, and will be the last time residents of the Northern Rockies will have to change their clocks.
At their December 8, 2014 Meeting, the Council of the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality resolved “that the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality make the scheduled change to Pacific Daylight Time (PDT)/Mountain Standard Time (MST)/Coordinated Universal Time (UTC/GMT) -7 hours on Sunday, March 8, 2015, and in the future the Municipality will remain on that time permanently, and further that notifications of this change be widely distributed.”
This decision was reached following the results of a November 15, 2014 non-binding opinion poll which saw almost 75% of voters support the change.
“Residents were loud and clear about their desire to change how time is observed in our community,” said Northern Rockies Mayor Bill Streeper. “Staying on the same time all year round will allow us to harmonize with our neighbours to the south, which will benefit local businesses, especially those involved in the natural gas industry.”
